Craig Ashford
Senior Director, Head of Client Relationship Management, JLL
Craig Ashford is a Senior Director of JLL and is the Head of Client Relationship Management for JLL’s Australian Valuation & Risk Advisory department. Craig is a registered Valuer and has over 20 years’ experience in providing real estate advice and is responsible for creating and maintaining long-term and strategic relationships with JLL customers to ensure the required and necessary services are delivered upon. He is JLL’s primary national contact for all things community housing. He has a passion for this sector and works closely with clients to minimise unnecessary costs; being cognisant of the importance of every dollar in the CHP’s hand. Craig has a very broad understanding of property and what drives value, he is a creative problem solver and enjoys nothing more than being part of JLL’s client’s solutions to their property needs.

Josh Burns MP
Special Envoy for Social Housing and Homelessness
Josh Burns is Labor's Federal Member for Macnamara in the inner south-eastern and bayside suburbs of Melbourne and was recently appointed as the Special Envoy for Social Housing and Homelessness. First elected in 2019, he has also served as Chair of the Parliamentary Joint Committee on Human Rights and as co-chair of the Parliamentary Friends of Housing. These positions reflect his commitment to tackling the homelessness crisis, promoting human rights and the principle that everyone deserves dignity, respect, and a safe place to call home. In 2021, during the pandemic, he authored a policy paper titled “The Crumbling Australian Dream: An Examination of Australia’s Housing Sector” advocating for federal leadership to prioritise social and affordable housing. Josh’s values are grounded in the experience of his family. He is the grandson of migrants who left Europe fleeing persecution to settle in Melbourne. He wants every member of the community to have the same opportunities that were given to his family - a safe home, free healthcare, and secure work. Before representing his community in the Australian Parliament, he previously worked as a teacher’s aide and a factory hand and served as an advisor in state and federal governments, including to the Premier of Victoria.

Catherine Carter
Chief Executive Officer, DJAS Architecture
Catherine Carter is a senior figure in the Australian property industry, recognised for her contributions to the built environment and commitment to driving positive change. With a deep understanding of city-shaping and urban development, she is dedicated to transforming the ways cities and communities are designed and developed. She is the Founder and Director of think-tank Salon Canberra, CEO at DJAS Architecture, Adjunct Professor at the University of Canberra, and an ACT Committee Member of Housing All Australians. A passionate advocate for diversity, equity and inclusion, Catherine’s expertise extends to government and industry boards. She is a widely respected public speaker and media commentator, recognised as a leading voice for innovation and the future of cities.

Kerren Crosthwaite
First Assistant Secretary - Housing Supply and Cities, Commonwealth Treasury
Kerren Crosthwaite is the Acting Deputy Secretary of the Housing Group. Kerren provides housing policy advice to the Minister for Housing, Homelessness and Cities and the Treasurer, and develops, designs and delivers housing policies and programs including the Housing Australia Future Fund and the National Housing Accord. Prior to her current role, Kerren led the Net Zero Economy Taskforce in the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet. Before that, she was responsible for drought and farm financial policy and programs at the Department of Agriculture, including delivering the $5bn Future Drought Fund, the Regional Investment Corporation, Farm Household Allowance, and the Rural Financial Counselling Service. Since moving to Canberra from Perth as a graduate in 2003, Kerren has held leadership roles in several Australian Government agencies in both Canberra and Perth, including the Department of Finance, the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations, and the Fair Work Ombudsman. She holds bachelor’s degrees in law and economics, and a Master of Public Policy and Management.

Adrian Harrington
Chair, ACH’s ESG Interim Governance Group
Adrian has had 34 years of experience in funds management, real estate, government and the not for profit sectors across Australia, the UK and US. He is currently Chair of Charter Hall Direct Property Management which oversees more than $10bn in real estate funds, Board member of the ACT Government’s Suburban Land Agency, Chair of Inclusive Housing Australia’s SDA Investment Committee, NSW Chair of Housing All Australians, and a member of the University of Canberra's Development and Planning Committee. Adrian is the former Chair of both the Federal Government's National Housing Finance and Investment Corporation (now known as Housing Australia) and the Australian Housing and Urban Research Institute (AHURI). He also held senior executive positions at Charter Hall, Folkestone, Mirvac, Deutsche Asset Management, Paladin and the Property Council of Australia. In December 2024, Adrian was made of Life Member of the NSW Division of the Property Council of Australia.

Susan Lloyd-Hurwitz AM
Chair, National Housing Supply and Affordability Council
Susan Lloyd-Hurwitz is Chair of the National Housing Supply and Affordability Council, a non-executive director of Rio Tinto Limited, a non-executive director of Macquarie Group, a member of the Sydney Opera House Trust, a Fellow of the University of Sydney Senate and Chair of the Senate Building and Estates Committee, a member of the INSEAD Global Board and Chair of the Australian Centre for Gender Equality and Inclusion @ Work Advisory Board. Susan was Chief Executive Officer of Mirvac and a Director of the Mirvac Board from 2012 to 2023 and President of Chief Executive Women from November 2022 to June 2025. Prior to this, Susan was Managing Director at LaSalle Investment Management in London. Susan has also held senior executive positions at MGPA, Macquarie Group and Lend Lease Corporation, working in Australia, the US and Europe. Susan holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) from the University of Sydney and an MBA (Distinction) from INSEAD (France).

Dr Fiona McKenzie

Orange Compass
Fiona has spent her career designing and supporting systems change initiatives and founded Orange Compass in 2018 to support change makers - internationally and at home - transform systems and build better futures. Her work crosses a wide range of issues from natural resource management, agriculture, housing and health through to early childhood, regional development, national security and the energy transition. Fiona’s practice is informed by her qualifications as a human geographer, with a PhD on farmer-driven innovation and expertise in both public policy and academic research. She also has a rich tapestry of 20 years’ experience across academia, business, government and non-government sectors including supporting numerous United Nations collaborations and advising organisations for impact in Australia, Asia, Africa, Europe and North America. Fiona is a Contributing Editor to ‘The Journal of Awareness-Based Systems Change’ and a highly regarded facilitator, writer, and thought partner. She is renowned for her ability to guide others to uncover, explore, analyse and make sense of complex issues.

Denita Wawn

Denita was appointed as Chief Executive of Master Builders Australia in March 2017. She has over 35 years’ experience as a leading advocate for industry and employers in the nation’s capital, around Australia and internationally. Denita is the Deputy Chair and Employer Director of Cbus Super Fund, a Board Member of the Council of Small Business Organisations Australia (COSBOA), a Board Member of Australian Brick & Blocklaying Training Foundation (Brick and Block Careers), and a Board Member on the National Australia Day Council. Denita was born and educated in Hobart, Tasmania. She has Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws degrees from the University of Tasmania.

Mike Zorbas

Property Council of Australia
The Property Council represents the leading organisations that invest in and shape our cities. Mike works with members to make those cities, and the property industry, Australia’s second largest job creator, more prosperous and sustainable. Property Council members are the stewards of every kind of commercial, industrial, educational, health, retail, retirement, student accommodation, build to rent and residential precinct. Previously Mike held leadership roles at Lendlease and Stockland and was Deputy Head of Media for the Liberal Democrats in the UK. He is currently on the Boards of ASBEC, the Sydney Institute and Green Peak Energy. He is a former Deputy Chair of the Committee for Sydney and served two terms on the SBS Community Advisory Committee.
